Science, we know, is constantly making discoveries in ways that reinforce some theories while others are either discarded or forced into being modified or upgraded. In Darwinian fashion, only the fittest theories survive. In this manner, science mimics the development of our consciousness in our lives.
As we evolve, some of our thoughts, behaviors, habits, and beliefs are reinforced because they align with the discoveries we make in life. In many instances, however, we are challenged to discard outmoded ways of thinking and behaving or upgrade them to be in alignment with our evolving consciousness. Many humans resist this process.
We often tend to embrace only those discoveries that align with our established thoughts, behaviors, habits, and beliefs. Adapting ourselves to change does not come naturally to us, especially when the rate of change is as rapid as it is in our post-modern civilization. It is our predicament today, and mantra practice can help.
The way to work with evolutionary energy, is to be anchored in the eternal while embracing the constant change of the evolutionary process. Mantras, with their spiritual energy, can catalyze change. Their power and energy can be harnessed in various ways to serve different purposes, making them a versatile tool for personal transformation.
Mantra practice can be challenging, even for those who have been doing it a long time. So what are some of the hacks that can help us build stamina for mantra practice, which is more a marathon than a sprint? Watch the video.
This approximately 12-minute video teaches three mantra dynamics with a music meditation and a demonstration to show you how to sustain concentration, engagement, and connection in your mantra practice.
Some aspects of our consciousness naturally evolve. For example, we're told that our cells regenerate all the time. Every seven years, there is something radically different about our bodies. However, it does not imply by default that these biological changes leave us feeling better or improved. For instance, many humans resist the aging process. Turning grey, sagging flesh, extra pounds, and rougher skin can trigger complex psychological reactions with us.
Sometimes, even if the changes in our body are positive, our mental state may not reflect these changes with positivity. Our biology is only one aspect of who we are, as we also identify with our jobs, our finances, and our relationships. All of these areas are constantly changing. It is in this context that we can tap into the power of mantras to assist us with the changes taking place in our lives by giving us tools to work with consciousness, which is what underlies all aspects of life, including the very essence of who we are in the depths of being.
In some ways, we are stubborn and rebellious, resisting change. When we resist change, we stagnate. Sometimes, we even regress mentally, causing the natural evolutionary process to have a detrimental effect on our consciousness. A mantra, as a tool of the mind, serves to shield it from negative influences, even those originating from within.
Our mind is designed to adapt to changing circumstances. Indeed, we tend to be set in specific ways of thinking, but the evolutionary process pushes us toward growth. As the mind grows, the spirit expands, and we make room for new information to enter our field of consciousness. Mantra practice gives us an anchor in the midst of all the change while simultaneously expanding our spirit, the most profound level of awareness within us.
